What is a dental emergency?
Many instances may require emergency care, including:
- A toothache.
- An infected, broken, chipped, or knocked-out tooth.
- A lost crown or filling.
- Swollen or bleeding gums.
If you’re experiencing persistent tooth pain, facial or gum swelling, bleeding, or fever along with dental pain, give us a call during our office hours. In the case of a medical emergency — severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, or swelling that interferes with breathing — please call 911.
What should I expect at an emergency appointment?
At your appointment, our team will gather basic information about your symptoms, medical history, and what happened — moving quickly to help relieve your discomfort as soon as we can.
The doctor will then examine the affected area and take X-rays if needed to identify the source of the problem. Pain doesn’t always mean what you think — we want to treat the cause, not just the symptom. Whenever possible, treatment is completed the same day.
