Dental Implant Restoration

Dental implants are titanium replacements for tooth roots. Dental implants provide a strong foundation for prosthetic teeth like fixed crowns and bridges. They can also help to stabilize removable dentures. Dental implant restoration is the process of placing the prosthesis onto the implant.

What types of tooth replacement options are available with implants?

Crown: A crown, sometimes called a cap, is a single fixed tooth that can either be cemented over a natural tooth and cemented or screwed onto an implant. It is used to strengthen a natural tooth or replace a single missing tooth in conjunction with an implant.

Bridge: A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It is a fixed replacement that is  cemented to teeth or connected to implants.

Denture: A denture is a removable prosthesis that replaces all of your teeth. Implants can be used to stabilize a traditional denture.

Partial Denture: A partial denture is a removable prosthesis that replaces one or more missing teeth.

Implant Denture: A denture that is secured to implants. This denture can be either removable by securing the denture with attachments that snap onto implants or fixed by screwing them to the implants.  This combination provides a substantial improvement over dentures alone.
