There are many variables that influence the cost of dental crowns. Speak with your dental care team to discuss your specific needs. If you are uninsured, be sure to check out our Smiles360 Dental Discount Club for generous discounts on many common treatments.
In most cases, we recommend a crown in conjunction with a root canal. Crowns add a tremendous level of strength and support. Teeth that require root canal therapy are generally at high risk for fracture without the strength of a crown.
Before your procedure, you’ll receive an injection of lidocaine or another local anesthetic in your gums. After the procedure is over and the anesthesia has worn off, you may feel some sensitivity or some soreness in the gums around the tooth. The pain is very minimal and shouldn’t last long.
Generally, dental crowns last 5-15 years. We’ve seen some crowns last much longer — up to 25 or 30 years! Most dental insurances will cover the cost if the crown needs to be replaced after the first five years.
